The team was called into a meeting at regency towers. They were introduced to Madeline Kearns, their new patron. There was currently a mayoral election in New York. Two main runners, Bill DeBlasio, the Democratic candidate and Joseph J 'Jo' Lahota the republican candidate. Regency had concerns about Bill who had been seen in the company of Mr King, a monarch operative. He plans a mandatory blood screening for security purposes if elected which also concerns regency. The team are to take positions on his campaign staff, Jack in a security role, Jaroslaw as his driver, Gideon as his physician and Brian as his secretary.
The team went for interviews which they passed. Jack reported that Bill was drunk during his interview. The team were asked to meet with Bill at 5pm that evening to attend a fundraiser for cancer research at the Plaza hotel. At the event Jaroslaw spotted Mr King with three associates. Jack overheard them talking about visiting the blood data centre in the morning. Towards the end of the evening Gideon was questioned by the press and he described in great detail why the idea of taking blood samples. Bill fired him on the spot. He then hired a cab and followed Mr King when he left.
Bill had rooms booked in the Carlton hotel. Gideon followed Mr King back to the same hotel. Gideons room had been cancelled so he stayed with Jack. Jaroslaw located Mr King with his finding meridian. He was in room 13. A little while later Brian was called to Bills room. When Brian went to his room he put his phone on record. Bill had beaten the prostitute. He was under the influence of drugs and ranted about what he had done. Jack called the police and an ambulance while he was ranting. The police took Bill away and the ambulance took the prostitute.
When everything had died down the team went to Mr Kings room. There were three nearsiders inside. Jaroslaw opened the door and crept in. He liberated an iPad pro and left. Jaroslaw used opening to gain access to the iPad. There was plans about starting the convergence.
Current state of play:
Blasio should win the election easily and through him we can procure the nuke and finish the blood database. Once we screen everyone in New York for HbA+ we can go ahead with starting the convergence. Emma has a quantity of plutonium she’s willing to sell which should be sufficient for our needs. Casualties will be severe but they’re only negs.
We have procured three Blasio variants from Earth7, 10 and 12 using the King’s Road broken room in the disused wing of the Plaza hotel. We promised 7 a ticket on the next Ark by fixing the lottery, we’ll take care of 10’s gambling debts while 12 is simply doing it for the money. We’re keeping Blasio 1 alive and in a cell near the room. His political knowledge is useful until the convergence when he will be terminated. His staff is clueless to his predicament, though the variants differing personalities may cause problems.
Mr. King
The team then returned to Kings room and slit their throats. The team then collected all their equipment, reported back to Regency then returned to the Plaza hotel. There was a wing a the back which had been destroyed by fire in the 1920s.
There were tramps sleeping there. Brian interrogated one that looked suspicious. He was a monarch agent and let slip the fact the convergence was due in 2 weeks. Brian knocked him unconscious. The door to the wing was blocked with a steel plate. Jaroslaw sensed 12 nearsiders inside. Jaroslaw used opening. Inside was a staircase leading upwards. A broken room was sensed. It was a kings road that lead to variants 7, 10 and 12. Upstairs was a corridor with an exterior staircase leading upwards at the far end. Jaroslaw spotted a laser crossing the corridor half way down. At the far end he could hear footsteps above.
As the team climbed the stairs they heard someone saying they had received orders to terminate the neg immediately and leave by the broken room on the fifth floor. The team stormed in. There were six monarch operatives in the room. Five were killed in the firefight but their leader escaped, though badly injured.
Two Bills appeared and were Captured. A third Bill was imprisoned in a cage. When Gideon tested the caged Bill and found he was from Earth 1 Jack killed the other two. Regency were then called in to clear up the mess and secure the kings road.
