The team was briefed that the black hole created by the ebony star on Earth 4 was having a detrimental effect on the nearside. The team was tasked with travelling back in time to stop themselves from creating the black hole. It is theorised that placing a piece of felsteel in the large hadron collider would create a doorway into the past. The collider on Earth 1 is down for repair but the one on Earth 6 is active. A conference was due to be held at the international conference centre in Geneva. The Earth 6 versions of Jaroslaw and Gideon were known to be scientists at CERN and Earth 6 Jack was a security guard there. The CERN personnel had bio chips surgically implanted which would need to be scanned alongside their IDs to gain access to the collider.

A broken room to Earth 6 was identified in an abandoned railway station in Geneva. The team travelled to Geneva and located the railway station. The team had a rough passage through the broken room. The team headed off to find cover but Jaroslaw was quickly overcome by the heat and passed out. The rest of the team carried him until they found a taxi to take them to the conference centre. Gideon healed Jaroslaw and he regained consciousness as the taxi pulled up outside the conference centre.

They entered the conference centre and made their way to the hotel. Brian pretended to be looking for Jaroslaw to get his room number, then forgot it on the way back to the rest of the team. Jack, Gideon then Jaroslaw went to the reception in turn to ask for their room keys. Jaroslaw opened the safe and obtained his ID and some money while Gideon guessed his own passcode to get into his Earth 6 variants safe.

Jack and Jaroslaw then waited in Gideon's room while Brian and Gideon waited in Jaroslaw's room.

When Jaroslaw 6 came back to his room Gideon drugged him and removed his chip. Brian then went to wait in Gideons room Several hours later Gideon 6 returned to his room with a prostitute. Jack grabbed her and broke her neck while Jaroslaw and Brian jumped Gideon 6 and drugged him before Gideon came to remove his chip.

The team then went to Jack 6's room. Jaroslaw opened the safe. Inside was a desert eagle and an envelope containing a photograph of Brian with 'contact' scribbled below, and a picture of a lorry with a sign universal AC circled and writing 'equipment inside' beneath. When Jack 6 returned to his room Brian grappled him while Jaroslaw put a gun to his head and Gideon tried to sedate him. Jack 6 fought back and attacked Jaroslaw with his meridian power causing Jaroslaw to reflectively shoot him with a venom pistol. Brian git hit with the splash.

Gideon removed his chip then inserted the three chips into the team.

The team then took a taxi to CERN. Jaroslaw used momentum to hide Brian as they passed through security. The team then took a loft down to the ring. Jaroslaw planted the falsteel then entered the control centre when asked by another scientist to look at some readings as they were concerned about a magnetic coupling. Jaroslaw persuaded then to go and investigate. The collider was started up and Jaroslaw opened a broken room back in time to when they were briefed prior to heading to Earth 4 to trigger the ebony star. They met themselves leaving the meeting and convinced Neil Ellington to abort the mission. They then left for a vacation on Earth 5 until they got back to their present time.
