The team was briefed of a need to gather more Felsteel from earth 3. The team was to negotiate with Ramona for more Felsteel. The team obtained some weapons to use for trade.
5 assault rifles
2 shotguns
6 pistols
Ammunition
The team then drove to the I80 rest stop in Ohio where the broken room was located. The room was due to cycle at 20 past midnight. Jaroslaw stole an out of order sign from the janitors closet and stuck it on the door of the ladies restroom. The team then moved their equipment to the restroom and waited for the room to cycle.
The team found themselves in the ruins of a service station on Earth 3. There was a group of people sitting round a camp fire including Anne Monroe who the team had met recently. She said the iron kings had been increasing their attacks and had captured some of her people. She said the iron kings had a new weapon which could paralyse people.
Shortly afterwards the service station was attacked. Brian disarmed one of the attackers with his moving meridian and so obtained one of their weapons which looked like a wand. The team then headed off towards the Iron kings camp. When the sky lit up with an impending meteor strike the team ran for the hatch they knew lead into the Iron kings base. The hatch had some shield over it which Jack broke through. Jaroslaw unlocked it and the team climbed in. There was a silver half globe attached to the underside which started humming when the hatch was closed. [possibly the device which powered the force field]
The teams phones and torches did not work. Brian made some brands which he lit but after about 10 yards the torches and phones started working again. [The half globe may also be draining power nearby]. Further down the corridor was two guards. They were quickly dispatched but a small missile launcher on the ceiling fired. Jack broke through its shield with his breaking meridian and Brian used blocking to block and detonate the missile. Gideon picked up the launcher which had somehow survived the blast.
One of the guards was still alive [Jack did not dispatch him but instead let Gideon examine him. Perhaps the therapy is finally having some effect]. He had a welt on his arm which Gideon determined was caused by an infection. Gideon brought him round. He had white eyes with no pupil or iris. He then started convulsing.
Gideon cut into the welt and there was a spurt of blood. His convulsions died down and the colour of his eyes started returning to normal. Gideon then healed him. Gideon then found a tiny black object in the blood. Jaroslaw remembered him as being one of the Iron king heavies called Chris. He could not remember much but finally remembered there had been gunfire and he had lost consciousness. He had woken up tied to a table and some metallic arms injected something into him. Then he remembered nothing more until he woke up with the team.
Jaroslaw scouted ahead and reported four more guards ahead. Jaroslaw and Brian then crept forward, though Brian tripped and alerted the guards who turned and opened fire. They were killed after a brief firefight. Grenades were thrown down the corridor at the team. Brian and jack advanced and killed more guards.
The team was then fired upon by something invisible. Jarslaw saw a brief ripple in the air as it fired. Jack generated a wave of breaking force which stunned the creature briefly and it became visible. It looked like a large four armed reptilian humanoid. It vanished again as Jaroslaw used his opening meridian to inflict a wound on it. Jack used his chance meridian to help him target the invisible creature and shot it several times. Jaroslaw used nearsight to locate it and continued to target it with attacks using his opening meridian. Brian tried to grapple it but was effortlessly thrown aside. The creature fired back with missiles and a gun and Gideon spent his time healing the rest of the team. Eventually the creature was killed. Gideon read its dying thoughts and determined it was a scout from an alien race called the S'dru.
Several alien items were recovered including a rifle, a rocket launcher and a circular device with a purple crystal embedded. There was a large screen in the next room showing a volcano with a flying saucer embedded in its side. Jack thought it was in the Philippines. There was also pylons humming with power and a control panel. Jack pressed a button on the control panel and the screen lit up with what looked like a countdown timer. The team ran. Brian stopped to pick up a crate.
Gideon dropped behind and did not make it out with the test of the team before what was probably a small nuclear explosion. Jack used nearsight to determine Gideon was still alive though buried under the rubble. Jaroslaw used opening to open a hole down to where Gideon was trapped, unconscious, under a beam. Brian used blocking to start shoring up the hole while Jack climbed down to him. Jack moved the beam and tied a rope round Gideon then Jaroslaw and Brian pulled him out just before the hole collapsed.
The team made their way back to the service station. Gideon was badly injured and only regained consciousness after some first aid and Brian using blocking on his pain. Jaroslaw sped up the room cycle and smoothed the transition back to earth 1. Gideon was in no state to be moved further so Brian called for paramedics then the rest of the team left. A security guard who attempted to stop the team leaving was knocked unconscious and his arm broken.
In the debriefing the volcano with the crashed flying saucer was identified as being the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. Gideon was questioned in the hospital gut claimed he remembered nothing. When he had recovered from his injuries he was discharged.
