The team was called into regency towers. Jack returned to the team but Catherine was reassigned. James Klein was her replacement. Three regency neersiders had disappeared in the last few days. The team was tasked to investigate. The first was Digna Kuchan, a mover and regional insurance executive. She lives near Whitney point. The second was Mark Sohns, a blocker and dynamic optimisation specialist. He lives in Yonkers. The third was Evia Want, an opener was an investor interactions manager who lives in Varick. They disappeared during down time between missions.

The team visited Evias apartment. A calendar was found showing the last week. She had regular gym appointments. On checking she had attended on Friday 15th May. She also had a riding appointment later on the Friday. On checking with the riding school it was found that she had gone missing while out riding. The school had reported her and the horse missing to the police.

The team headed to the riding school. Nearby was a fracking operation. The missing horse was called Tinkerbell. Jaroslaw detected a broken room to Earth 2 nearby and sensed something very unpleasant in the neerside. It seemed to be coming from the fracking site. Near the site a set of horse tracks stopped suddenly and there was strange marks on the ground. When Jack approached he started sinking into the ground as if it was quicksand. Jack managed to struggle free. He reported some neerside force was pulling him down and that it felt like a void underneath. The horse was able to cross on its own without incident.

The team then went to Marks house which was next to a lake. A broken room in the direction of the lake lead to Earth 4 and it also had a very unpleasant feel in the neerside. There was an unpleasant smell coming from the lake which was similar to the area round the fracking site. There was a boat missing from the boathouse. The team found another fracking site nearby and there were pipes between it and the lake.

The team then went to Dignas house. Her diary showed she was going to attend an anti fracking rally at Whitney point farm. Gideon sensed a broken room to Earth 6 on the farm which had the same unpleasant feel.

A deal was made with the truckers to take the team to Earth 2, 4 and 6 to locate the missing operatives. The trucker went to the riding school and parked near the broken room. After waiting an hour the truck transitioned to Earth 2. The Earth 2 equivalent of the riding school was an overgrown farmhouse. There were cattle and horses nearby. Brian shot one with his crossbow causing the others to attack the truck which quickly reversed out of danger and parked by the farmhouse.

Brian found some footprints heading South East. The team followed them to a silo. Evia was inside. She said her horse Tinkerbell had attacked her as soon as she arrived. She was returned to Earth 1. The trucker then took the team to Earth 4. A different broken room within Karathi territory was used as the truck could not use the one in the lake. The trucker stayed by the room while the team made their way on motorbikes. The team was spotted by a dragonfly Karathi but managed to evade it.

The team found the remains of a boat on the shore of the lake. There was two Karathi in the boathouse which they killed. In the house the team found a hole in the floor of the living room. It was over 50ft deep. The team descended on rope to the bottom.

At the bottom was a complex of rough tunnels. On some of the walls were organic veins that pulsed slightly. Brian tracked some drag marks into the tunnels. The team advanced into the tunnels but were spotted by a group of Karathi. They were killed in a brief firefight but the sounds of gunfire negated any chance of stealth. Another group of vaguely humanoids with greyish skin were spotted but they appeared non aggressive.

Brian opened fire on a group of humans suspended from the ceiling of one cavern the team passed through. He killed one and injured several more. [He claimed his intention was to put them out of their misery]. Another fight erupted when some Karathi caught up with the team. Brian ran ahead and found the corridor blocked by an organic wall. The pulsing veins appeared to pass through. A grenade against it had little effect.

Jack broke through using his meridian power as more Karathi attacked. Inside was the Karathi queen. There was humans lying across the floor including Mark. The queen was injecting eggs into them. Jaroslaw shot at the queen as did Brian, making holes in the abdomen. Jack then threw a grenade into the abdomen killing the queen. The Karathi became disorientated at the death of their queen. The team retreated back to the entrance with Jack and Brian carrying Mark.

The team climbed out but Karathi caught up while Mark was being pulled up. It cut the rope and glued him to the wall before climbing up to attack. Another Karathi attacked from outside. They were killed with some difficulty. Brian then climbed down to try to rescue Mark and was attacked by more Karathi. They were fought off and finally Mark was cut free and dragged to the top.

Outside was another two Karathi, one of which destroyed one of the bikes. The team quickly dispatched them then made off on the remaining bikes. Escaping more Karathi and returned to the rendezvous.

Dignas body was recovered from Earth 6. She had made it to a deserted farm house but had died of dehydration.
