The crew recruited a new member, Archibald Bidford ‘The major’ to provide a strong arm while Finbar was unavailable.

The crew learned Djira from the hive was looking for them. They contacted her and learned she would help in the war with the crows in exchange for the crew assisting her in another matter. She was willing to loan the crew a gang of elite mercenaries in exchange for some information. The previous leader of crows was called Roric and she had had a romantic relation with him. There was a rumour current leader of the crows, Lissa, had killed him and dumped the body in a canal. She wanted the crew to locate Roric's ghost and persuade it to enter crows the HQ to tell them what Lissa had done.

The major waylaid and beat up Belle, the crows second in command while Narsissus used trance powder to incapacitate his companions. He revealed the Body was dumped in the Eves in Silkshore. John attuned to the ghost field and found a ghost willing to talk to him. It told of a spirit store in the canal where many spirits congregated but warned they were hostile.

The crew found Roric at the spirit store and convinced him to help, but the other ghosts had to be fought off in the process. The crows turned on Lissa and killed her when they learned what she had done and Belle took over as the crows leader. The mercenaries were set loose on the crows.
