The operatives were sent to the forge world Belathia in the Eskutenax system where they were instructed to meet Mathius Belathor at Pakthertius manufactorium. They found scorch marks on the wall of the manufactoriun and blood smears on the ground. There were lots of guards and an administratum investigator called Lothar Skuult who had memory augmetics protruding from his skull.

Belathor advised the manufactorum produced servitors for the war effort. A month ago the manufactorium entered lockdown and no one has left since. Armed servitors had fortified all entrances. A productivity inspector was investigating the manufactorium and had disappeared. Local enforcers had captured a rogue servior from the manufactorium attempting to kidnap a local resident. A Skitari squad had entered the facility and did not emerge. A short while after a vox broadcast of inintelligable screaming had been heard for 6 hours. The tythe to the emperor will not be met while the situation continues and the operatives were to resolve it. The captured servitor was an ogryn and had a large cage on its back. It had been badly damaged but appeared new, manufactured after the lockdown.

The operatives would be delivered to the rooftop entrance via a Valkarie to try to gain entrance. Shots were fired from the roof as the operatives approached from four servitors, one armed with a plasma cannon and the others with heavy bolters. Gaius shot the servitor with the plasma cannon with his sniper rifle and Iota shot it with his laspistol. Mordicai finally hit it with his shgotgun, crippling it. With the greatest threat eliminated the operatives started firing on another of the servitors but the Valkarie was hit and started going down. The operatives leapt clear, and the Valkarie crashed on the servitors, destroying them and Mordicai was hurt when he landed. A blast door was identified under the wreckage which had been repaired with plasteel. Mordacai determined it had been patched after being breached by the enforcers. Iota opened it and the operatives entered.

They entered a room which had a sign "3rd floor biological research and production". The room was dark and had no power. There were two servitors patrolling. Servitors were ambushed by the operatives and destroyed after a short fight.

Mordicai found a note on one of the servitors. The operatives moved into the repurposing facility where they found a servitor working on a human who was screaming. The human was wearing an enforcers uniform and the servitor was transforming him into a new servitor. Gaius shot the servitor and destroyed it. The human was questioned and stated he was part of a squad lead by Enforcer Annet which was attacked by servitors, many of them with heavy weapons and the squad fell back to the workers habitat. The human then died.

A biological waste disposal unit was located nearby with decaying organs, though none were over a week old. Gaius pressed a button he noticed concealed on the wall and a concealed door slid back to reveal a lift. There was a control panel with two buttons labelled A,A&HR QA,P&PF. The operatives determined they stood for QA packing and power facilities (lowest level), and Augmentation, assembly and human resources (mid level). They entered the lift and pressed A,A&HR. The lift descended then ground to a juddering halt and started getting hot. The operatives succeeded in getting the lift to go back up but not before being affected by the heat. They determined the heat was a deliberate act and had come from redirected power from the fusion reactor. The temperature peaked at 66 degrees then rapidly dropped.

Gaius sent his auspex to the bottom floor in the lift. It detected a very large servitor moving about.

The operatives moved to a nearby door and Iota unlocked it. The door lead into the sanctum, and when the operatives entered the door shut behind them. There were people in the room with administratum badges who claimed the situation was caused by the incompetence of the mechanicus personnel, with Magos Ferro who ran the facility being responsible. They wanted the operatives to Investigate the augmetic fabrication facility on the floor below as they believed she was there. The operatives were told to arrest her and recover her research as evidence of her crimes. They said the facility had been taken over by a heretical intelligence called Ignis Aven which Magos had introduced to improve productivity, but scrap code had caused it to malfunction. They provided the operatives a map and asked them to recover the scrap code. (A rather heretical request as the scrap code turns machines into demon engines. Another set of heretics that will need to be added to the Todo list)

The operatives interrogated the cojitator and learned there were over 400 active servitors in the manufactorum, and the processing of prisoners had increased greatly in the last year. They were also able to download some communications.

The operatives were directed to a lift to access the lower floors safely. They had to progress through the vat biomass production facility which had grilled walkways over the vats with electrified railings. There were small spiderlike servitors scurrying about and a foul smelling electrified gloop in the tanks. A crane in the ceiling was holding spare tanks. As the operatives crossed the walkways, a ruststalker severed the tether holding a tank which nearly hit Mordacai. The ruststalker landed on the gantry after the tank and attacked Mordacai, but shouted it did not want to hurt him as it attacked. Mordicai ran past. Gaius then shot it and it attacked Gaius, severing several of his fingers.

Iota tried to jump between gantries, slipped and fell in the vat below. Erica pulled him out, and Iota then shot at he ruststalker. It started pleading to be killed, then leapt and disappeared into the machinery above. Erika patched up Gaius and the operatives continued. A pressure door was locked when they approached but Iota overrode the machine spirit and opened it. The door started closing again and Gaius had to dive through before it shut and locked behind them.

The operatives found a naked human in a biomass container, likely grown to be a servitor, more signs of heretical activity. They shut the container and continued towards the elevator. There was a buzzing from below and the walkway magnetised. Erika was trapped on the walkway and Iota had to disrupt the magnet to free her.

The operatives reached the elevator where they found containers containing weapons and equipment. As Mordicai approached some frag grenades started glowing and he leapt backwards as they exploded. The operatives decided the equipment was likely contaminated and quickly entered the lift. In the lift they heard a chant in binary. Iota understood some as: Ent kp-98 ignated incom-table directive gamma - biological recon patching reckla vitols - praise omna.

The operatives descended to the floor below and found themselves in a large assembly area. Servitor assembly was in progress. The operatives heard a Litany of voices from above where they saw Four censor cherubs used to purify factory line. They looked aggressive and the smoke in their braziers started to turn green. The operatives opened fire eliminating two, but another fired a stream of necrotic gas, hitting Mordicai. Iota incapacitated another and Gaius then eliminated the last.

The operatives investigated the hab units and Iota examined some Cogitators that were found there. They contained an alert of a manufactorum wide inspection from outside with a warning that anyone who does not meet expectations would be turned into a servitor. Daily productivity reports were rated as 238% efficiency but the accident reports were exceeding 460%. A partially deleted memo from two months ago warned all workers to avoid the servitors being constructed under the plant.

In the dining area, the operatives found a human resource maintenance servitor which offered assistance and food. It said all the workers had been transformed into servitors to improve efficiency.

The operatives continued, and deduced it would be possible to move between floors using the manufactorum conveyor belts. Fabrication servitors were monitoring the conveyors and opening irises when needed to allow the partially completed servitors to pass through. The servitors were armoured to protect against the environment so energy weapons would be less effective against them.

They continued to the augmetics fabrication workshop where fabrication servitors were working. They ignored the operatives, but loud noises were heard from the south caused by an Ogryn servitor patrolling. The operatives ambushed and eliminated it but the team started hearing a binary hissing from their vox speakers. Iota realised it was a heretical song directed being targeted at there augmetics and had to turn off his eye. The operatives then switched vox bead frequencies to silence it. Moredicai attempted to contact my ship, but Ignis Aven answered and said contact would not be permitted and that the operatives had been entertaining. Ignis said it had designated them as a class 2 risk, and production was progressing efficiently, and all the workers had been repurposed as servitors as resources were running low. If the operatives proceeded they would be upgraded from a class 2 to class 3 security threat. Ingis said it was in charge and the progenitor was assisting, then called two armed skull servitors and an Ogryn servitor.

The operatives opened fire and attempted to jump through an iris valve. Mordicai destroyed a skull servitor but mistimed the jump through the iris and his foot got caught causing some toes to be ripped off. Iota destroyed other skull servitor and the operatives escaped through the iris after Erika amputated Mordicai's foot.

The operatives were dropped onto the floor in the middle of a fire fight. Servitors were fighting enforcers lead by Samara Annet. With the operatives help the servitors were destroyed. The enforcers said something was happening in the power station. They were in poor shape but agreed to cause a diversion while the operatives investigated the power station.

The operatives advanced into a storage area patrolled by Ogryn servitors. Erika caused a distraction and ran back to the enforcers while the rest of the operatives continued forward. There was a huge reactor in the power room which was causing a lot of static and interference. There were six servitors monitoring six control stations but they ignored the operatives. The servitors were unarmed. There were lifts up to the monitoring stations, and another lift down to the sub basement. The operatives waited for Erika and Iota studied the control station while they were waiting.

Erika lead the enforcers out, then returned saying Belathor had told her the operatives were to destroy the facility if the situation could not be resolved. When Erika arrived the operatives descended into the sub basement where they found Magos Ferro trapped in the heart of heretical tech, transmitting heretical chants over vox units and guarded by two massive battle servitors.

Magos Ferro wanted the facility to be destroyed as Ingis was out of control. She said someone called the Codebreaker approached her and provided her with the scratch code. Iota observed the reactors could be sabotaged by damaging the monitors for a slow failure, or disengaged the breaker systems for a faster failure, and damaging the capacitors could cause failure in minutes. The system had void shields which could contain the explosion but activating the void shields would require Magos Ferro's codes.

The access controls were in her cranial cogitator which she provided. Erika took Mordicai out while Iota remained with Gaius to set the failure in progress. They then retreated and observed the destruction of the manufactorum. Mathius Belathor was upset and concerned the facility was destroyed though he told Erika to do so. I was not happy when the operatives returned and reported the manufactorum had been destroyed. Certainly no bonuses will be awarded for this mess and I will need to deal with Belathor for overstepping his authority. The operatives were ordered to return to the hostillary where they stay between missions and await further instructions.
