I hereby testify that the following is an accurate and just account of events that transpired on the above date.
06:00 hours, Academy of law: met with fellow class cadets Klyment and Trump, waited until tutor Judge Weiss arrived to inform us of the last stage in our long and arduous training to become judges – the “hotdog run”. Our evaluator would be senior judge DeWitt, who we were to meet at sector house 225 @ 07:00.
06:30 hours, in H-wagon in transit to sector house 225: accessed justice department records on judge DeWitt, known to be uncommonly enthusiastic about leading hotdog runs which usually resulted in high failure and fatality rates among cadets.
07:00 hours, sector house 225: met judge DeWitt who told us our run was a four day ride into the cursed earth to retrieve some items, which was on a strictly need-to-know basis, then told to report to quartermaster judge Nealon to requisition our equipment. Judge DeWitt would collect us @ 07:30 and we would be in the cursed earth by 08:00.
07:05 hours, sector house 225, room BR37: met judge Nealon who issued us with the following:
• Survival kit
• 20 rad pills
• Geiger counter
• 12 street rations
• Survival tent
• Rad cloak
Then told we were to be issued our MarkIII lawmasters specially equipped for the cursed earth. By the time we’d chosen our lawgiver ordnance judge DeWitt arrived to begin our mission.
07:30 hours, Megacity-One Meg-way: on-route to western city wall and cursed earth, traffic heavy.
08:00 hours, city wall: arrived at western fortified city wall and proceed through gates into the cursed earth.
08:02 hours, cursed earth: gang of 20 or so mutants loitering near city gate, huge mutant called out to judge DeWitt and charged him. I Issued standard challenge which was ignored so drew lawgiver and took aim as did cadet Trump. For unknown reason cadet Klyment saw fit to drive in front of judge DeWitt and our field of fire which resulted in an injury when my aim was off and I shot him, fortunately it was not serious, though he momentarily lost control of his law master, noted cadet Klyments reckless behaviour. [C. Trump: In my opinion C. Sorensen was reckless to open fire and C. Klymett was reckless in approaching a potentially dangerous mutant. However the purpose of the hotdog run is for them to learn such lessons before endangering MC1 citizens] Cadet Trump shot the mutant while judge DeWitt drew his lawgiver and fired in one action, the mutant was brought down.
08:10 hours, cursed earth: during drive to unknown location noticed convoy of hell-Trekkers leaving MC-1, informed judge DeWitt.
12:00 hours, cursed earth: came upon broken down civilian vehicle and decided to offer assistance. 6 occupants: 3 adults and 3 juves, one female heavily pregnant, cadet Trump helped deliver infant, impressive. [C. Trump: C. Sorensen and C. Klymett did try repairing their vehicle but were unsuccessful]
15:00 hours cursed earth: location of mission objective still undisclosed, reached rocky terrain with ridge below in which a battle between dinosaurs had recently occurred as evidenced by mauled and-eaten carcasses. Attacked by surviving velociraptor, incredibly fast, managed to cross distance between us in seconds and attempted to eat my lawmaster. I brought it down with an incendiary round but my lawmaster’s bike cannons suffered significant damage upon which I was able to conduct temporary repairs.
22:00 hours cursed earth: stopped for the night and setup camp. Established standard watch rotation of cadets each on 2 hours. During cadet Trumps watch he was attacked by a cursed earth mutation known as a dog vulture which he efficiently dispatched. During cadet Klyments watch he was approached by a Tex-city judge Brown on his “long walk”. He engaged him in social intercourse which resulted in cadet Klyment handing over some lawgiver ammo and supplies, can’t say I approve.
06:00 hours cursed earth: broke camp and headed out.
08:25 hours cursed earth: noticed more hell-Trekkers, asked them to pull over to check they had the proper documentation when one sped off. Pursued and issued warning which the driver sensibly obeyed. Citizen Michael Crichton, docs checked OK, issued him with CR1000 fine for running and wasting justice department time. In the interim cadet Trump discovered one civilian was carrying an illegal Sov firearm. Trump is impressing me more and more. [C. Trump: Decided it would not be possible to arrest him due to the mission. Confiscated the firearm, took his details and ordered him to return to MC1 for punishment. If he fails to comply he can be arrested when he next leaves MC1]
11:15 hours, cursed earth: came upon large civilian RV on its side, impossible to tow with lawmasters, performed docs check and conducted search of vehicle, I discovered crumpled paper showing a map with a location somewhere in the cursed earth and reference to the illegal “Hunters Club”. Civilians refused to be forthcoming with their intentions. Unfortunately only circumstantial evidence so unable to book them. Have a feeling that there is a big operation planned involving HC in the cursed earth. Informed cadets and judge DeWitt of findings and suspicions before group decided to proceed to circled map rendezvous to investigate further. [C. Trump: We had their details so they can be arrested later if more evidence surfaces]
12:00 hours, Hell Trekkers rendezvous location: reached location on map and spied large group of hell Trekkers and vehicles. One large vehicle armed with a laser and equipped with a portable weather control device. Decided to spy on them from a hillside vantage point.
16:00 hours, hillside overlooking Hell Trekkers: man emerged from the largest vehicle and proceeded to address the crowd. (Abbreviated speech follows), “I brought you all here for operation “early bird” 3km under the group lie 500 20th century scientists in suspended animation. I will wake them with the weather control device”. It was now obvious that this meant the wholesale slaughter of hundreds of innocents, something as cadet judges we couldn’t allow. Soon afterwards the weather device was activated followed by five metal tubes emerging from the ground. People came out to be greeted by massed gunfire from the Hell Trekkers, the slaughter had begun.
16:05 hours, we sped off down the hill towards the hell Trekkers and a massive firefight ensured during which judge DeWitt was responsible for the destruction of several hell Trekker vehicles whilst cadet Klyment made effective use of stumm gas grenades. On the way down I noticed a figure approaching from the east that turned out to be cadet Bullet from a previous hotdog run under Judge Dewitts command who had been abandoned after sand sharks attacked his patrol. He later told me his DeWitt had left him for dead without a lawmaster.
16:06 hours, the chaotic battle continued apace, With cadet Bullet riding on the back of my lawmaster we attacked the hell Trekkers making an effective team, unfortunately he was injured by a lucky shot. During this time cadet Trump was in pursuit of the hell Trekker leader who had shown his true colours and fled like a coward on a bike. We later learned that he evaded capture. [C. Trump: However when I searched his bus I was able to find enough evidence to convict him should he ever return to MC1]
16:10 hours, the fight was over and we’d won. My fellow cadets told the survivors to head off into The cursed earth earth without weapons or vehicles, I disapproved as I believe we could have used their vehicles once repaired to take them back to MC-1 to carry out life sentences, but the other cadets and Judge DeWitt said no. He thought it was more important to carry on with our hotdog run than punish mass murderers. A big mistake and something I will take up with my superiors once I return to MC-1. [C. Trump: We had their details. They had the choice of banishment to the cursed earth or returning to MC1 for punishment] We spoke with the 20th century survivors who asked if this was “utopia”, I tried explaining that a world war has devastated most of North America a hundred years ago, but the suspended animation must have addled their Brains so cadet Trump suggested they walk to the mutie township of Serendipity instead, cadet Bullet walked was them.
17:00 hours, Mutie township “Serendiity”: we arrived in Serendipity which turned out to be a collection of squalid ramshackle buildings barely held together. Judge DeWitt headed over to the hotel “Happy Accident” and advised us the get some rest as we would be heading out at 06:00 tomorrow. Receptionist was a lizard man with bad manners, I had to barter my scatter gun for a room. [C. Trump: A misuse of justice dept equipment in my opinion] Sometime later cadet Bullet arrived with the survivors who were integrated into the towns populace, something the mutant mayor was happy to see. We met with him and he asked us advise on how to handle two prisoners, I stated as cadets we had no jurisdiction out here but he kept whining on until cadets Trump and Klyment caved into his demands. [C. Trump: He gave us authority and jurisdiction to pass sentence. Using our training to judge his prisoners seemed sensible and would set a president for judge dept involvement in the future if required. We judged one prisoner just needed a shock to change his behaviour. The other was a mass murderer and after obtaining a confession I passed summary justice] Very poor judgment in my opinion and I wasn't prepared to be party to so I told the mayor what I thought of him and his grud-forsaken town and left to get some sleep. Back at the hotel the mayor appeared said he'd let my room go and gave me back my scattergun which had been ruined. I argued but left before the muties had an excuse to shoot me, I slept outdoors and has a restless night as it was a poor substitute for the justice departments sleep machines, I was unaware of the other cadets activities during the night.
06:10 hours, Mutie township “Serendipity”: judge DeWitt was late to arrive to met us, when he did we immediately set off into the cursed earth.
10:00 hours, somewhere in the cursed earth: we stopped at a ridge and at the top looked down onto a huge impact crater in which was embedded a large metallic object. Judge DeWitt said it was an escape pod from an alien craft, told us to remain where we were then rode off during down the hill towards the pod.
10:05 hours, alien escape pod crash site, heard a peculiar sound from the crater followed by an enormous explosion and EMP blast which fried all our electronics. The pod had been vaporised and there was no way Judge DeWitt could have survived in my opinion. As the smoke began to clear we saw the figure of a mutant holding an odd looking device...
10:06 hours, alien escape pod crash sight, we approached the mutie who promptly collapsed. We soon discovered he had been shot in the back from a lawgiver. During his interrogation he revealed that he’d wanted revenge on Judge DeWitt after he had arrived at the crash site and told the mutie and his brother to leave, and when they refused shot him, but not before his brother escaped. Somehow he survived, despite a grievous injury, and when DeWitt returned used an alien weapon to exact his revenge. The mutant died shortly after this confession and Cadet Klyment took the alien weapon (which resembled two metallic discs, one the right way up the other inverted and both joined together somehow), the technology was clearly beyond our comprehension so we decided to take it back to MC-1 for tech div to study. We noticed toxic storm clouds heading in from the horizon at this point and decided to head out. Both my Lawmaster and Klyments were still disabled by the EMP burst but fortunately DeWitts was functional. I decided to destroy the inoperative Lawmasters with hi-ex shells to avoid them falling into mutie hands.
10:07 hours, cursed earth: Cadet Trump said he knew the way back and we foolishly followed him, it was not until several hours had passed before he realised he was hopelessly lost.
18:00 hours, cursed earth: at sunset we set up camp for the night beneath a natural rock outcropping which provided shelter from the rad storm. I was still fatigued from my restless sleep outside the mutie town of Serendipity so the other cadets agreed to cover the watch whilst I slept though.
21:00 hours, cursed earth camp site: during Cadet Trump watch the familiar figure of ex-Tex City Judge Brown approached and joined us. What are the chances of that?
03:00 hours, cursed earth camp site: it was during Cadet Bullets watch that a huge mutant spider attacked believing us to be easy prey. During the brief but intense firefight which followed it learned the error of its ways and was soon lying lifeless on the ground. Only Cadet Bullet had been bitten but his injury was superficial.
06:00 hours, cursed earth camp site: we broke camp and said goodbye to Brown who continued his long walk. I never fully trusted him.
09:00 hours, cursed earth: for some Grud-forsaken reason my fellow cadets decided to head towards the mutie hell-hole Serendipity hoping to fix their bike computers, great reasoning there as the town didn’t even have electricity! I stayed outside despite the Mayor offering me a pardon should I apologise for some non-existent transgression I performed earlier, so I told him what I though of him and his flea-pit of a town and left to setup camp outside. I had another poor nights sleep. [C. Trump: Poor judgement in C. Sorensens behalf in my opinion. A simple apology and he would have had a comfortable nights sleep and therefore not have been tired]
06:00 hours, outside Serendipity: met up with fellow Cadets and discovered, to my amazement, that Trump had somehow fixed his bike computer, he sure has some impressive skills. He programmed in a course for MC-1 and we were soon headed back to civilisation.
08:00 hours, cursed earth: I noticed a powerboarder in the sky near us who soon touched down, upon questioning he said his board had run out of power and when I asked why he didn't carry a spare battery he said the extra weight reduced performance, what an idiot and I had no sympathy for his self-imposed predicament. We told him to head towards Serendipity as we had no spare room on our lawmasters to accommodate him. We carried on.
18:00 hours, cursed earth: one day out from MC-1 thank grud! We made camp and set up watch during which Cadet Klyment heard distant sporadic gunfire. He choose to investigate after waking had rest of us up.
18:30 hours, cursed earth: this source of the disturbance turned out to be a large civilian vehicle under attack by four smaller ones driven by some kind of cursed earth bandits. After my challenge to surrender was ignored we entered combat and soon emerged victorious in no small part to my expert use of my lawmaster’s laser and cannons. The civilians were the same ones we had encountered on day 1 of this nightmare trip, where Cadet Trump had successfully delivered the mothers baby. She begged me to take the pre-juve to MC-1 and I eventually acquiesced. As their vehicle was shot to hell Cadets Klyment and Bullet stayed behind with the civvies whilst Cadet Trump and myself rode back to the city. I feel this was extremely poor judgement from these two. [C. Trump: I took one of the juves who had been shot wand was unlikely to survive until rescue arrived while C. Sorensen reluctantly took the mother and her infant who was suffering from radiation exposure. C. Bullet and C. Klyment stayed to protect the others until they could be rescued. As we had completed our hotdog run objective doing what we could to save the lives of MC1 citizens seemed sensible to me]
Day 6:
07:00 hours, on final approach to MC-1: what a beautiful site MC-1 is! We were identified by the city watch judges and allowed in where we met judge Cunningham who ordered us to the sector house to prepare for our debriefing. We gave the location of the other cadets and an H-Wagon was dispatched to pick them up.
09:00 hours, sector house 225: we were all ushered in for our debriefing and hotdog run evaluation, present were tutor judge Vice, sector chief Corran and some accounts div judge. It was tough and myself in particular had a severe grilling. I voiced my concerns over DeWitts behaviour which the other cadets seemed re-markedly oblivious to. [C. Trump: Who are cadets to judge DeWitt whose purpose was to observe the situations we found ourselves in] Afterwards each cadet was questioned separately and when we were called back in, the sector chief announced we were now full judges! I never doubted it for a moment [C. Trump: After the death of judge DeWitt, C. Sorensen stated it was his belief J. DeWitt had already decided to fail him] despite Corran voicing strong objections to my treatment of the muties, as if they are proper citizens! Cadet Trump was made squad leader which seemed a sensible decision and we were led out to begin our new lives as MC-1 judges. [J. Trump: Although I had some reservations about C. Sorensen and his obvious mutie prejudices I decided that with much guidance he would make a passable judge.]
