Dhurak was called way on family business. We received a call from guards that there were monsters near the main gate. The monsters proved to be Nurgle plaguebearers and they were chasing someone called Corin Vleesman. I quickly eliminated the palguebearers with an arcane blast. Corin was clearly unwell and the guards suggested to take him to Lady Vesprils infirmary. There was a journal in his satchel. Spoke to Corin who said Darwid Heartrock had cursed them when they turned back and they could see the Crimson twins when they turned back. He also said Heartrok had told the lizards they were seeking emberstones in the volcanos and that at Heartrock fort Darwid had made observations that pointed the way but said the white rocks tell lies. Heartrock had also found a scroll saying the last test was not as it seems, a child could pass it.
I performed a prophesy and learned the Stormvault was near the Crimson twins, that Darwid was alive but not, and had suffered a bad outcome. The Stormvault was many weeks journey, Heartrock was a victim of his own greed and the last test could be passed by crawling on hands and knees.
Salix and Wraith went to the city archiveswhere they found a collection of inscriptions from when the Stormvault was established and fragments of an unbinding spell which would allow 'passing between the hammers'. I returned to the infirmary where I found a physician talking with a woman who wanted to talk to Corin. She was average height with darkish hair. She said her name was Brega Haltwhistle and was married to a porter from the Heartrock expedition. She did not seem upset when I told her Corin was the only member to return, then asked about records and offered to sit with him. She said she was staying at the Beach Mermaid.
Salix and Raith were followed back to our house. Raith confronted them and we found out afterwards he had loaned the journal to someone called Juliana for some Aqua Ghyranis.
Following morning we were called to the conclave by Morgan Kassan and asked to lead an expedition to find the Stormvault and recover the Crucible of Life within. The council had secured the services of a guide, Draedin Stormcloud, and 50 other people to form the core of the expedition. We were told to ensure the expedition was able to leave within a week. The councillors recommended the expedition first go to Hunters keep, the base of the Order Serpantis which was about three days from Anvilgard. The Order Serpantis hunted monsters for gladiatorial fights and Darwid probably went there as well. The council would provide supplies including a Grand hoxhead of Aqua Ghyranis, and firespitters to carry it.
The expedition was assembled and set out to Hunters keep. Malice Cragar was in charge of Hunters keep and reported the Heartrock expedition camp was seen in the Cupricorn mountains. Knights had seen it while hunting a crocodroth which had been wounded it but had got away. The expedition continued up into the mountains where it was attacked by the crocodroth while crossing a river. The crocodroth was killed but myself and Raith were injured in the fight and one of the firespitters was killed. The expedition continued until we came to a mudslide and one of the expedition was wounded. Salix healed them. Some members announced they wanted to turn back but changed their minds when told they would not get any of the expeditions supplies if they left. Later they attempted to steal the supplies and were executed.
Two members of the expedition were swept to their deaths in a flash flood and six more were wounded. The next day we pushed ahead to fort Heartrock. It had taken damage and several sections had collapsed. It looked like the damage had been caused by a single large creature but was not recent. There were a number of graves round the perimeter. The evidence pointed to the camp having been attacked by a carnosaur so we left some supplies to try to bait it in.
After several hours the carnosaur made an appearance. It was a formidable opponent but we succeeded in defeating it after a tough fight. We had made camp for the night when a group of about a dozen Serephon (also called Skinks) approached. Their leader was called Totek and he wanted to know what we were doing in their territory. He said others were following our trail on cold ones and had now overtaken us. When asked about the storm vault Totek said it was deep in the shadow of the Crimson Peaks. He warned us not to enter the valley of corruption but o offered to guide us and asked if Salix was one of the coalesced, a spirit from the Skinks mythology. I asked if they had use for the corpse of the carnosaur and they seemed pleased to take it for food.
They lead us through the jungle to two giant stone pillars either side of a narrow gorge. The pillars were carved with the Hammer of Sigmar and a twin tailed comet as well as unidentifiable symbols and some cryptic text "Turn back in despair, beyond test of arms, magic and faith awaits, Kaminos the mighty Sigmar storm lord had me written". It had been written in the last few months and Kaminos was a mighty creature tamed by Sigmar and which served as a guardian. The Skinks said following the gorge would lead to the valley of corruption and this was as far as they would go.
Overnight most of the supplies and Aqua Ghyranis disappeared along with Draedin Stormcloud. Salix and Raith went to find the Skinks to see if they had seen anything. They found small quantities of supplies discarded. As the expedition awoke in the morning they found a grapplemaw had grown where the Aqua Ghyranis had been spilled. It attacked and killed nine of the expedition members before it was killed.
The expedition followed the gorge until a ziggurat
appeared in the distance at the end of a valley. We heard chanting "Billy Fastgrip he was eaten by fangfish" and sounds of Laughter, then other names who perished in horrible deaths. Billy Fastgrip was a member of the Heartrock expedition. Raith crept ahead to find the sound of the singing and saw a Sloppity Bilepiper which enthralled him. I flew to his assistance with Salix but were also affected by the singing.
Eventually Raith shook free and killed the creature. Myself and Salix then killed the nurglings that surrounded it.
We then heard another voice which came from a bloated figure that appeared to be growing out of the ground and looked infected by nurgle. The face was untouched and recognisable as Heartrock. It was bemoaning that they were so close. Raith offered to end its misery then cut off its head. Roots grabbed the head and pulled it into the ground then roots grew from the neck and started forming a new head. I used arcane blast to reduce the body to ash but shoots started to appear amongst the ashes. Deciding there was noting more we could do we continued past towards the ziggurat.
The area immediately surrounding the ziggurat was clear of corruption. The bronze doors had been torn open so we entered. On the walls were frescos depicting the deeds of the Pantheon of Order. There were depictions of the gods Sigmar, the orc twin god Gorka-Morka, the dwarven god Grungni, and Nagash god of the dead. There were three giant thrones at the end of the hall and sitting on them were the three gods, Sigmar surrounded by light, Grungni and Gorkamorka [Gorkamorka.jpg]. They demanded to be addressed by their name and titles, which I did
. They then sat back on their thrones. The light faded and they were revealed to be master crafted automatons.
Sounds were heard from a reliquary behind the dais. There were 12 rays of light descending across the door, and inside the reliquary were two figures trapped behind the rays of light. They both appeared to recognise Raith and claimed to have became trapped and the rays of light triggered when one of them picked up a relic
. One was Draedin Stormcloud who apologised for what had happened. Raith walked away and they asked 'what about the 5 spheres he was paid'.
We passed through a short corridor into a room with a steam engine. In the room was a Duadin called Kravich and two Order Serpantis knights. Kravich appeared to know Raith, said thanks for the help and asked if we knew he had betrayed us for five spheres. He said the engine controlled an elevator which they were trying to get working and Juliana was working on freeing the others. We agreed a temporary truce, and after several hours work we got the steam engines working. If they are telling the truth about Raith I have no doubt he will be feeling the wraith of Sigmar at some point.
We then met someone called Juliana who immediately thanked Raith for his assistance. She proposed whoever got the Crucible of Life first could keep it. We entered the lift which Raith was able to control by thought and descended into the vault. The lift opened into a short corridor with a room at the end. I summoned a ghost light and sent it into the room where the light was immediately extinguished.
Raith entered the room with a torch which was not extinguished. Presumably there was some effect in the room which negated magic. In the room were four warriors of Sigmar, automatons set to guard. One saluted Raith and another saluted me when I entered.
One indicated it was a test of arms then moved to attack us. I engaged one, circled round then quickly left the room through the other doorway in the far wall. The others continued to fight the warriors. Raith succeeded in destroying one and moved to attack the one fighting Salix, freeing him to join me.
In the next room I found a swirling tornado of hammers, an endless spell called a Celestian vortex. There were eight runes on the floor binding the spell to the room and I surmised destroying or negating the runes would free the spell and it would leave the room.
One of the Order Serpentis knights was killed while another was engaged by the warrior that had previously engaged myself. Juliana ordered Kravich to attack.
Salix joined me and we unbound the Celestian vortex spell. The hammers dropped to the floor and the runes extinguished. We quickly moved through the room as one of the runes slowly started re-lighting and several hammers twitched. Raith defeated the warrior he was fighting and caught up with us. We came to a third room with a huge hammer swaying from the ceiling. On the hammer was written "Trust in the storm lord and enter". I crossed the room in supplication and praying to Sigmar. Raith followed but was clearly deemed unworthy as the hammer dropped, crushing and nearly killing him. Clearly a sign of Sigmar's displeasure and I can only hope he has now learned his lesson. He crawled to the far side of the room. Salix followed us and passed through the room safely.
We continued down another corridor to the next room which appeared to be a vertical maze. It took a long time for us to navigate through the maze and there was blasts of steam while we did so. When we finally got through the maze we came to an anti-chamber with a hatch in the floor which radiated heat. A large fresco on the wall depicted Sigmar wrestling a large two headed dragon to the floor. Written on the fresco was "This is a test of might by Sigmar who overcame the beast named Kaminos the mighty who sleeps in the lava. Whoever overcomes Kaminos will be rewarded with the blazing armour".
I prayed to Sigmar and a vision appeared which said I could not be touched by the heat and fire. We descended through the hatch into a large room with a pool of lava in the centre. There was two bridges leading to an island where there was a forge and anvil, and the sounds of hammers. On a stand was a set of stormcast armour. Juliana and her party appeared through the hatch behind us and everyone started running towards the island. As we ran a Magmadroth rose from the lava.
Raith attacked the Magmadroth. I then picked up the Crucible of life which was a small cup but very heavy, and headed back towards the hatch while the others engaged the magmadroth. Juliana tried to take the Crucible and was killed. The fight with the magmadroth was tough but it was eventually killed. The body had some magical runes and I was also able to recover the ancient stormforged armour. The crucible had the power to turn water into Aqua Ghyranis. We returned to Anvilgard where we handed over the crucible to the council. They were grateful and upgraded our quarters to a house on the First wall on the line. We were also told our living expenses would be taken care of.
Salix was called away to attend some Sylvanethi business but we were assigned two Duadrin, Erdrin and Lofki of Ulrung, and a human called Gargamel were assigned to our binding.
We were walking along the harbour when we heard a scream through the mists and the sound of braking glass. When we investigated we found a Kurnoth Hunter, it's bark turned white, frozen in place.
An Aelven woman standing nearby was in shock. She said she was walking with Redleaf when suddenly they were attacked. When she saw him again through the mist he had been petrified. Her name was Tilari Mistbloom, a gardener, and often accompanied Redleaf. They had been suddenly attacked from all sides from the mist by three robed figures. There was broken glass on the ground from a smashed vessel with a brown-green liquid residue which smelled like the defoliant.
Councillor Kassan appeared with some city guards who secured the area. A sylvanethi called Sorrowbranch
then appeared. Had come to retrieve the Lamantari (heart) from Redleaf. Kassan was opposed to interfering with a crime scene but was persuaded to allow her to try to save him. When the Lamantari was removed the body collapsed. She said she could arrange a meeting with the branchwyches in Spireroot tomorrow if needed.
I performed a Prophesy ritual and asked the questions:
Does Tilari know who the killers of Redleaf?
Was the substance that was used to kill Redleaf manufactured in the defoliant production facility?
Was the substance that was used to kill Redleaf manufactured by someone working in or associated with the defoliant production facility?
Was Redleaf attacked because of what he was looking for?
The answers to all the questions was a simple no.
We went to the defoliant production facility. Engineer Dietga was there with Zadreth. Zadreth arranged for a sample from the smashed vessel to be analysed. He concluded there was some defoliant in the sample but much of the water in the city would also have traces of defoliant. There were other chemicals present and also evidence of magic. He said it was a hateful substance and whoever threw it wanted the victim to suffer.
Raith spoke to his contacts who said figures with a horrible smell had been seen. We went to see Irina Heiksdotr. She offered to help but provided little extra information than Zadreth, other than it was dangerous and not to get any on us. She suggested the smell was a giveaway and would need to be produced somewhere it would not be detected, possibly under the city.
We were headed back to our house when two figures with a shuffling gait were spotted following us. They were the rat like creatures called Skaven gutter runners. One was incapacitated and the other quickly killed. They smelled awful
. Raith spotted another figure on the rooftop holding a censor. It cast a spell which I quickly unbound. Raith then quickly climbed to the top of the building to confront it.
It tried to throw a vial but Raith was able to restrain it. Erdrin followed Raith and killed it. There wer markings of a chaos god called The Defiler on the censor.
The surviving Skaven was questioned. It said that soon the holy poison will spread throughout the city, then it spat puss into Raith's face and sain the great defilement will take place soon, we are too late. Uzel Smoulderhide is favoured by the great defiler, will kill the accursed Slanneth.
I performed a Prophecy ritual and determined the Skaven was telling the truth, that many Skaven were in Anvilgard, and to find where are they making the poison we should enter the sewers and follow the sign of the great defiler.
It started gnawing through its arm so Raith cut its head off. We found a sewer grate nearby and descended into the sewer where we started following symbols of the great defiler that we found scratched on the walls. Suddenly we were attacked by Skaven including two huge Rat Ogor's who burst up from the sewage flow. They were filthy unpleasant creatures to fight but we eventually defeated them.
We continued until we heard the sound of rushing water. There were structures on stilts above the sewer and a large waterfall beyond them plunging downwards. There was a Plague Priest , four Censor Bearers and two Rat Ogor's among the Skaven, and there were four Dryads imprisoned in cages. Lofki created a magical tunnel to one of the platforms and went through it with Raith and Erdrin where they started attacking Skaven. Lofki then summoned a 'Volcanos call' miracle on one of the platforms, setting fire to it and killing the Skaven there. I fired arcane bolts at the plague priest which managed to resist some of the attacks.
Gargamel recognised the plague priest as Uzak Smoulderhide who had previously attacked his village and they exchanged insults. The priest cast spells at us, poisoning us before Raith charged and killed it. The Skaven were all killed after a fight and the Dryands were freed. They were captured and brought from the wailing grove.
The fire spread and the platforms started to collapse. Everyone was rescued though it was close. I cast Prophesy and determined the corruption was ended but the defilement had only just begun. We retraced our steps and left the sewers. The streets were filled with bystanders and there was talk of a fight at Spireroot. We made our way to Spireroot where we found Skaven and Sylvanethi fighting, with their bodies raining down from Spireroot. I flew up with Raith while the others climbed one of the towers that held up Spireroot.
There were a lot of Skaven in Spireroot including many Rat Ogor's, and more in the tower that the others used to ascend to Spireroot. The Skaven were defeated after a long fight. The Sylvanethi rewarded us with Aqua Ghyranis and enchanted Raiths and Erdrin's weapons. They also gave an enchanted necklace to Lofki.
We received a message asking us to visit Morgan Kassan at Lady Vesprils infirmary. When we arrived there were sick looking people outside complaining they could not afford treatment. Kassan had been ill a few days and there were many people in the infirmary coughing. Some of the worst cases had growths or boils on old scar tissue. Talking to the patients I found out the scars all seemed to be from old fights. Kassan had a red lump above her left collarbone which was also over an old wound. She asked us to investigate the illness.
The illness started with a fever and weakness followed by an aggressive growth of tumours, and some people had died due to suffocation or organs being crushed by the tumours. One patient appeared to be recovering after their growths were excised by the Light of Sigmar, but it appeared that the normal healing properties of Aqua Ghyranis was causing an over stimulation which made the disease worse. I spoke to lady Luthia Calgaris and advised her of the risks of treating this disease with Aqua Ghyranis but she seemed indifferent.
As we were reporting back to Kassan a runner arrived saying the crucible of life had been stolen from the conclave and Tybor wanted to meet us at the vault.
I performed a prophesy ritual and learned that stopping the use of Aqua Ghyranis as a treatment would not help the patients recover, and that it was a Nurgle influence causing the disease, not Skaven. Aqua Ghyranis was not helping due to the crucible of life. We should seek out the captain who betrayed us by seeking our fortunes grace with teeth and bone (The teeth and bone is a gambling den run by captain Theriel Kaltis).
Gargamel had taken some sick people back to our house to examine them, but several of them died while being examined and the bodies started swelling. They then burst open
and nurglings and a beast of nurgle
emerged. Luckily we returned to the house just as that was happening. We attacked the chaos creatures and had eradicated most of the nurglings when the beast turned into a lord of plagues. It was pummelled until Erdrin delt a killing blow, at which point it swelled then exploded. Raith was mortally wounded in the fight and had to be given Aqua Ghyranis to keep him alive. The lord of plagues was eventually defeated but it was a close run fight.
We were then asked to meet Tibor Hallowgate at the council halls as the crucible of life had been stolen. He showed us the Vault Of Maegrek which had been opened, all wards dispelled and four security guards killed. Tibor appeared to be hiding something as he wanted the crucible recovering without the other council members knowing. It had been intrusted to his care and he was concerned there would be repercussions. I was advised by one of the guards that had come down with us that there were normally five people on guard so I sent him to find who was missing. He returned and informed us the missing guard was Captain Jamie L'Nera who had distinctive Viti Ligo on his face. The guards had been killed by having their throats slit, and a spiral V had been carved into their necks, a symbol of the black scale coil, and it appeared a rusty blade had been used. The bodies appeared to have been dead longer than the timeline would suggest. The door had a Duardin defence mechanism but it had been disabled. Raith found some dried organic matter, possibly skin, on the floor. We were also given L'Nera's address.
I performed a prophesy ritual and learned it was not the black scale coil who stole the cauldron of life from the vault, and the crucible of life was now in the hands of the corrupter.
We went to the barracks where L'Nera lived. The guards there said L'Nera had been missing for about a week and he had been acting oddly before his disappearance, returning later and later to the barracks with his clothes smelling of smoke and liquor, though he never drank alcohol. Some of the guards were whispering about a sourceress, debauchery and darkling covens. They thought a sourceress had ensnared him. One of the guards thought they had seen him entering the crows nest. When we searched his room we found a banner of the red machetes, his regiment on the wall, but I also found a patch of shrivelled skin with a thin stripe of white running through it on the floor.
The others went to the crows nest while I waited nearby as it was likely my presence would hamper investigations. They asked questions including about L'Nera. He was known and someone said they saw him drop something that wriggled then pick it up and put it on his face. Some ash was found on a table after L'Nera left and the barkeep thought it was from the Helden flame crematorium. They also learned there would be a pit fight in the court of knaves in the evening.
We went to the crematorium. There were bodies piled everywhere and two workers were dumping bodies into a furnace. The workers reported seeing a maggot the size of their arm crawling under a corpse pile and they had seen L'Nera sniffing about and inspecting a pile of bodies. They also said he appeared to have flesh hanging off his face. In a pile I found corpses with something wriggling under the skin. Liquid was running out of the corpse pile and dripping through a gap in the floor. Erdrin and Raith started moving the bodies to see what was underneath and found a trapdoor.
Bodies in some of the piles started swelling then burst open in a shower of nurglings. I quickly blasted them, but about a dozen plaguebearers started crawling out from other corpse piles. Raith opened the trapdoor. Below was a circle made of dried yellow green puss. There were corpses hung from the ceiling which had been cut open and were crawling with maggots. One was still alive and appeared to be L'Nera. There was also another figure who ran into a tunnel.
The plaguebearers were cut down by Raith and Erdrin then we descended through the trapdoor. There were barrels of Aqua Ghyranis round the walls of the room, and the tunnel led to an ancient buried part of the city built by the Duardrin iron guild. We started following the figure we saw disappear into the tunnel. We came to kegs which were leaking Aqua Ghyranis and a group of mushrooms which appeared to have teeth were growing from them. Clearly they had been corrupted by chaos and could be similar to a FeculentGnarlmaw. Raith went to cut one down and it exploded in a cloud of spores which he narrowly avoided breathing.
We continued then suddenly an Arachnarok spider rushed at Raith out of the darkness. It was killed but not before all of Gargamel's creatures were killed and Raith and Erdrin were seriously wounded. We continued until Raith found gnawed bones and blood on the wall. The blood was a symbol of the Blisterskin core of the emberscared prince, a group of intelligent undead. The bones were humanoid. We saw figures moving in the darkness and when Gargamel said we were just here hunting chaos scum, one answered. It asked if we followed the king. Gargamel told them we were champions from the kingdom above and they said welcome. Some stepped into the light and we could see they were crypt ghouls.
When asked about the man with the melting face they said he was the baron. We told them he was a traitor and they offered to guide us. At one point we were told to be quiet as the dragon was nearby. Gargamel stepped on something and made noise and there was a squelching noise of something moving. We waited until it stopped moving before we continued, but Gargamel made more noise and a huge pink blob covered in hooks erupted from a side tunnel. However it could not reach us as it was constrained by huge chains. It was identified as a Wyrm maggot, a creature of nurgle summoned by rotbringers of nurgle and used to dig tunnels and filth pits which serve as a gateway between the mortal realms and the realm of chaos.
The route taken lead us under the central garden of Lady Vesprils infirmary. When we heard a voice, gasps and the sound of liquid hitting stone we thanked the ghoul for its help then made our way forward to the edge of a chamber. In the corners were immense struts holding up the ceiling. There were a group of plaguebearers at each strut. The creature we had been following was in the centre next to a lord of plagues. The creature had the crucible of light but it appeared to have been corrupted. He was injuring the plaguebearers and then healing them with the crucible.
I fired arcane bolts at the creature with the crucible as others also attacked him. The plaguebearer nearby was killed and burst, showering Raith with corrupted Aqua Ghyranis. When the creature was killed it started swelling then exploded on a shower of corrupted Aqua Ghyranis. The nearby strut was covered and quickly dissolved, starting a collapse which appeared to be affecting one of the crucibles of Aqua Ghyranis in the infirmary above.
The lord of plagues charged into the group, causing many injuries before Erdrin cleaved into it with his axes. It was badly injured but not destroyed in the first volley, but he laid into it again and cut its head off. Its body quickly decomposed.
We received a knock on the door. When we answered there was a Grifhound with a scroll from Morgan Kassan. We went to the west gate and while we were waiting the hissing of the defoliant pipes suddenly stopped. Then the pipes started spewing a sour yellow gas which appeared to revitalise the jungle. Fruit on the trees swelled and there were popping sounds. We heard a wheezing laughter and Beasts of Nurgle appeared from the jungle. Something large (a Pox Maggoth) could be heard crashing through the jungle, and four Rot Flies carrying Plague Drones could be seen in the distance. Then a Feculant Gnarlclaw started erupting from the ground.
We quickly dispatched the Beasts of Nurgle then the Gnarlclaw before the Rot Flies eached the walls. They were then also quickly dispatched. The Pox Maggoth reached the walls and we heard sounds of fighting in the city and a Great Unclean One could be seen in the distance smashing the council halls. Erdrin hacked at the Pox with his axes before the Pox wrapped its tongue round Erdrin, but Lofki cut its tongue off before Raith finished it off.
I left with Raith to go to the nearest defoliant production facility to try to stop the flow of the yellow gas which appeared to be the cause of all the problems. The others also disengaged and followed. The defoliant production city was under siege so we turned towards where the Great Unclean One
was last seen as it was likely the source of the corruption.
We met up with the others and headed towards the council chambers where we heard Tybor Hallagate chanting. We found some of the councillors tied up and guarded by Filth Pit Summoners. Tybor looked to have been corrupted by Nurgle and he was preaching to the tied up councillors. He was holding the crucible of life which appeared to have also become corrupted and was fused to his hand. Tybor manifested arcane power against us, but was cut down by Raith and Erdrin, losing an arm in the process. However he then rose from the dead using the power of the crucible. I blew his other arm off with an arcane bolt, separating him from the crucible. The fighting continued until Erdrin chopped off his head, but he still did not die and his hands started to crawl towards his body. Erdrin picked up the crucible and ripped it from the arm at which point Tybor finally died.
The Aqua Ghyranis in the crucible looked clear and Erdrin splashed some over the outside of the crucible on the remaining fingers. They swelled and burst into Nurglings. The Nurglings were killed and the councillors freed. Lofki then summoned a miracle and filled the room with lava and the crucible was thrown in. It floated on the lava for a while before the corruption burned off and it started to sink. The lava was then dismissed and the crucible started to cool.
We continued to the council chambers vast auditorium. Much had been demolished but the great unclean one was in the centre. At the far side of the auditorium was Zadreth. He had pulled out most of his hair and had set up a bile blaster spew gun. Zadreth fired his gun at us then the Great Unclean One, which was called Morbithrax, spoke to us and said he would enjoy giving the gifts of the grandfather to us. It belched a plaguewind but its other attacks were repulsed. I used my abilities to reduce its defences as Lofki used his to bolster our combat abilities.
Raith and Erdrin charged it and Gargamel sent his undead kharibdyss to kill Zadreth. Morbithrax mortally wounded Raith and Erdrin. Erdrin performed a last stand, decapitating Morbithrax before succumbing himself. He called out to Grimhyr and was consumed in holy fire. The worshipers of Nurgle fled and many were cut down by the cities defenders. Raith was given Aqua Ghyranis to save his life.
